Experimenting with the differences in the U gouge and the V gouge for creating different textures for the fur of the longhorn was the most enjoyable part of creating this linocut block. A longhorn is the mascot for my sister's university. Since our universities are rivals, I created this print as a trio. The maroon version is a way to incorporate my universities' colors into an artwork that still honors a rival school. The black version with hearts is a neutral to balance the university's colors on either side. The burnt orange version is a true homage to her university by incorporating their colors and mascot.
