Mixed Use Dance Studio

The form is a play on some of the basic building blocks of dance: extension and contraction.
The studio reaches out to connect with its surroundings and invites people in. The main
staircase is surrounded by windows that wrap around the buildings curvatures, as if they were
the ribbons on pointe shoes. The light will dance through the building just as its inhabitant’s
do. Every new stair brings a new perspective and view of the plaza and surrounding shops.
