Sage Commercial Ventures requested a site development that was desirable for the restaurant, retail, and office tenants. A sense of community is important to the client as it is even reflected in the project name as 'hinterhof' translates from German as 'backyard.' We approached the design as a destination for city residents to enjoy while shopping, a place for restaurant-goers to eat their take-out, and somewhere the employees of the buildings would like to relax during their breaks. As a result, the schematic site plans have a central green space wrapped by the buildings the space serves.
